Hockey, girls

The Centennial High school girls hockey program is a cooperative athletic program with Spring Lake Park High School offering highly competitive Varsity and JV teams for student-athletes from Centennial and Spring Lake Park High Schools. Players are chosen by merit from grades 7-12, based on the following criteria: Hockey Skills, Competitive Ability, Character/Leadership.

Our coaches work closely with our cooperative C/SLP youth hockey program, to aid in the development of our players starting at the U8 level. Players are evaluated and recommendations are made as to the best place for each player to develop. Players in grades 7-12 can compete at the U12, U15, JV, and HS levels based on age, program criteria, and spots available in the program.

If parents/guardians have a question about placement, they should contact Coach Molin directly. The coaching staff will also reach out directly to players they believe are getting ready to contribute at the high school level. This communication typically takes place in the Summer/Fall prior to the high school season.

Players that make one of our junior varsity or varsity teams are expected to be dedicated members with a commitment to excellence: on the ice, in the classroom, and as leaders within our communities. We expect our players to strictly adhere to all MInnesota State High School League and respective school district bylaws and policies.

As coaches, we are passionate about our program and girls hockey as a whole. If you have interest in our program please feel free to reach out for more information.

Lettering Criteria for CSLP Girls HS Hockey

To earn a varsity letter on the CSLP Girls HS Hockey team, players must be in good standing and rostered in over 50% of the games. Good standing is defined as not having been suspended by the team for any length of time or for any school violations throughout the school year. Additionally, at the coaches' discretion, players who are on the section roster and participate in playoffs may also receive a letter, even if they do not meet the 50% roster requirement.

Team Selection and Cut Criteria

As a cooperative program between Centennial and Spring Lake Park, the CSLP Girls HS Hockey team has historically not needed to make cuts due to sufficient roster space. However, we reserve the right to cut players if they do not align with the program's culture or if space limitations arise, particularly in specific positions like goalie, where spots are limited. In such cases, players may be referred to other levels of play. Those who do not make the squad can be directed to our U15 CSLP Youth Program or U19 Loons Program. We are thankful for the many opportunities available for girls to play hockey at the highest level in the state or continue in various programs at different competitive tiers.
