Alpine Skiing
Centennial / Spring Lake Park Alpine is a Boys & Girls, Varsity & JV level, competitive ski team for student-athletes registered in grades 7 – 12, in the Centennial and Spring Lake Park school systems. CHS / SLP officially formed an Alpine co-op in the 2022 – 2023 season.
Our program is built around the love and passion for the sport of alpine ski racing. Our team mantra is "Fast is Fun", which speaks to the ongoing hard work and development of becoming a faster ski racer, while enjoying the rewards of the process and progress. Our program aims to not only build a positive community and competitive ski team, but also help build strong and healthy student-athletes who can carry with them a passion for skiing, and life, down the road ahead.
We compete in the Slalom discipline of alpine ski racing within the Northwest Suburban Conference, and Section 7A. Our competitions have both team and individual results. Our home ski hill is Wild Mountain in Taylors Falls, MN, and we have conference ski races at both Wild Mountain & Trollhaugen in Dresser, Wisconsin. Transportation to practice and ski races is provided via a Team Bus. Student-athletes and their families from SLP work together and carpool to CHS to meet the Team Bus prior to ski events.
The season is mid-November to mid-February, and includes: 2 - 3 private invite races, 5 NWSC races, the Section 7A race, and the MSHSL State Alpine Championship. Practice included we ski about 30 days together each season as a Team.
Ski racing experience is helpful, but not required. Student-athletes will need a season ski pass at Wild Mountain, in addition to the school participation fees. Student-athletes will also need their own equipment – skis, boots, bindings, poles, helmet, goggles, ski / winter outerwear.

Hailey will compete in the Alpine State Tournament on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Giant's Ridge Golf and Ski Resort. Congratulations and Good Luck Hailey!
