Lacrosse, boys
Centennial High School is excited to welcome Konnor Kapitan as the new varsity boys’ lacrosse head coach.
Konnor Kapitan has been hired to take over the boys’ lacrosse program at Centennial High School. The position opened in November when the previous head coach, Seth King stepped away to spend more time with his family.
“Konnor has a strong commitment to coaching both the individual and collective team with a coaching philosophy centered around creating an environment of accountability and respect,” said Matt St. Martin Director of Athletics and Activities for Centennial High School.
Kapitan is a native of Champlin Park, and a graduate of Champlin Park High School where he played both lacrosse and hockey.
Konnor started his lacrosse coaching journey within the Champlin Park youth lacrosse program. After helping to grow the youth program for a couple of years he moved up to the high school level coaching three years at Champlin Park High School, two years as an assistant and one year as the boys junior varsity head coach. He has spent the 2024 season as the defensive coordinator for the Spring Lake Park High School Boys’ Varsity lacrosse team. In addition, he has been coaching club lacrosse for Team MN Lacrosse Club. Kapitan stated, “I am beyond grateful and excited for the opportunity to lead the Centennial Boys’ Lacrosse team! Having continuously played and coached in the Northwest Suburban Conference since 2016, it is truly an honor to be part of such a great school and program. I am excited to continue to build on the solid foundation in place for the Centennial Boys’ Lacrosse coaches that is in place from the coaches that came before me.”
Tryouts are open to any and all 9th - 12th grade boys interested in playing lacrosse.
