Golf, girls

Welcome to Girls Golf! We are so excited for you to join our team.

Girls golf consists of two teams: varsity, and junior varsity. Many beginners join the team during their 7th-12th grade years and develop different skills to be competent and confident in their golf game. Athletes are taught the basic skills of how to hold the club, a correct stance, and weight transfer to help develop their golf swing. As skills advance, students are also challenged to learn their club distances, sand shots, and different techniques to help their short game of chipping and putting.

Athletes are also taught how to keep correct score by learning about water hazards, lost ball, and out of bounds play. Athletes will practice short game, long game, and scoring throughout the season with coaches and peer mentors to help advance their skills. The best thing about golf is that it is a sport that athletes can play for a lifetime; for example, business outings, family outings, or even for daily exercise. Joining the golf team will also help athletes develop behaviors to use in daily life after high school like honesty, respect, integrity, confidence, decision-making skills, and teamwork and sportsmanship.

We are so excited to meet you!
