Centennial Boys Golf provides players that attend Centennial ISD 12 the opportunity to compete at the Varsity and Junior Varsity levels in the Northwest Suburban Conference.

“Coach Matt Schugel brings a wide spectrum of coaching experience with him, but more importantly, his coaching philosophy aligns with the Centennial School District vision and mission,” says Matt St. Martin, Centennial High School Director of Athletics and Activities. “Matt
believes that the values learned from participating in education based athletics allow student-athletes to grow as individuals.”

Most recently, Matt served as the Forest Lake High School Boys’ Varsity Golf Head Coach from 2019-2024. Prior to that, he was the assistant coach for the Forest Lake High School Boys’ Golf program from 2012-2018. In addition, Matt was a math teacher in the Forest Lake School District from 2011-2024 and is now teaching math at Centennial High School. He resides in Lino Lakes with his family.

Schugel stated, “I am excited for the opportunity to be the next head coach of the Centennial High School Boys’ Golf program. I am looking forward to building relationships with the golfers both in the classroom and on the course. On the course I am excited to work with each individual to improve their game and reach their full potential.”
