Centennial High School welcomes Michael Diggins as the New Varsity Football Head Coach.

Michael Diggins has been named the next head coach to lead the Centennial High School Football program. “Michael brings over 7 years of football coaching experience with him, but more importantly, his coaching philosophy aligns with the Centennial School District Mission and Vision,” says Matt St. Martin, Centennial High School Director of Athletics and Activities. “Michael believes that the values learned from participating in education based athletics allow student-athletes to grow as individuals.”

Most recently, Diggins served as the Defensive Coordinator for the Centennial High School Football program. Diggins stated, "I am proud and excited to serve the Centennial Football Program as Head Football Coach. Growing up in this community and returning in 2019 to work alongside an outstanding coaching staff under the leadership of Mike Diggins has been incredibly meaningful, as this program has become one of the most respected in the metro.”

In addition to Michael’s strong coaching background, he is also a committed educator in the classroom, serving as the chair for the Health Department at Centennial High School. He has also built the Cougar Strength programming to a thriving after-school program for Centennial High School students. Michael also holds the position of Director of Youth Services with the Minnesota Football Coaches Association.

Diggins also stated, “Our coaching staff will continue to support and challenge our student-athletes while building on the strong foundation created by our players, families, and community, becoming the head coach at Centennial is an exciting next step for me, not just professionally but personally.”
